A wedding hymn

We bring our friends, our families and loved ones,
to share this special moment in our life.
We come with hope, with happy expectation,
to celebrate that we are man and wife.
And they will wish for all that brings us wholeness,
and they will long for all that gives us joy;
and we will dance and sing our songs together
and Father, pray to share each moment here with you.
We know the way can never be quite certain,
we know our joys will always have their cost.
We catch a glimpse how tears may follow laughter,
and how life's wounds can make our loves seem lost.
But we will dare to walk the path before us;
and we will risk whatever we may be.
And we will dance and sing our song together
and measure out life's steps with One that's ever true.
As days go by, and winters turn to summers,
we'll pray again, the prayer we make today;
that all our life, and everything we yearn for
in this day's vows, may follow Jesus' way.
For this we do, with trust in One who loves us;
who lost himself for us, that we should live.
So we will dance and sing our song with angels,
in faith that life with him, is life made always new.
