Forthcoming training events Worship Day at Southwell: Saturday 20th September 2008, 9.30am to 4.15pm. A day to inspire and enhance worship and mission, spanning the breadth of our church traditions. All welcome! Bring a car-load (or even a bus-load) from your parish. Our resource pack to help you review your worship: details here
Other Diocesan worship training events 2007-2008: We want you to set the agenda - invite us to your parish or your deanery to deliver the training that you need, to help you develop worship that gives honour to God and touches the hearts of his people. Send your requests to joyceatkins@waitrose.com preferably before 1st October 2008. Praxis Midlands holds regular training events to help us in our worship and liturgical practice. Usually they are at Birmingham Cathedral for ease of communication and travel across the region. The next event is on Thursday 9th October 2008. It's called "Rites on the way out", looking at funeral liturgy. The main speaker is Anne Horton, author of "Using Common Worship (Funerals)" On Thursday 19th March 2009 there is an event called "Naves and Knaves: Sacred Space & Social Space" about the use of our church buildings, to be led by Michael Sadgrove, Dean of Durham and John Inge, Bishop of Worcester. These are high quality events, well worth attending to give fresh insights into our regular practice. For further info inc. fees and booking forms follow the link www.praxismidlands.org.uk In 2000 all clergy and readers were issued a purple folder about the introduction of Common Worship. The contents of the folder (and more) can be accessed here, both in web format and as Microsoft Word files. |
